Why "Mr. Goshen Valley"?

Way back in 1991, I was ready to stop renting and knew it was time to buy.  A favorite aunt told me that real estate was the best investment and there is no better feeling than the pride of homeownership.  The real estate price increases over the last few years have proven her right.

I looked at several communities nearby and compared the attributes.  I felt Goshen Valley had the most open area, the best location, and was also close to or if not the least expensive place to buy and build equity.  In November of 1991, I bought my first Goshen Valley Condominium (I still own two, a flat and a townhouse).

In the winter of 1993, the east coast had experienced many snowstorms where the roads were treacherous.  At the time I was a National Sales Manager commuting daily to Spring City.  I was able to drive to work and back but many times I was not able to get into my own parking lot as the snow had not been cleared.  At the end of the winter, Goshen Valley owners received a special snow assessment to pay for the extra plowing that had supposedly been done.  I, and many of my neighbors, felt that we had not received the services we were asked to pay extra for.  A neighbor in my building was a lawyer and she felt something had to be done.

First, I wrote up a questionnaire to find out how the other residents felt about the management company.  I received many completed questionnaires with a lot of complaints and realized someone had to try to help straighten things out.  I later ran for Council and had a landslide victory.  I wound up being on two Goshen Valley Councils for about ten years and did my best to help correct any problems and make Goshen Valley a better place.

The management company at the time was bought out by another company and later replaced by Robert Wise Management, who is doing a great job and is always open to helping work out any problems.

In 1995, I received my Real Estate license, and thought Goshen Valley would be a great place to start.  I already knew many residents and knew how nice it was.  I was a part time agent concentrating on Goshen Valley until I made the jump to full time in 2001.  Back in those days, Goshen Valley did not sell quickly.  I picked the perfect time to promote Goshen Valley as sales have been strong ever since!  I decided to make a flyer of my sales so other residents would know what was going on and would know who to go to when the time came for them to sell and buy something bigger with their new-found equity.

In 1999, I married my wife Jennifer.  We bought our Goshen Valley townhouse.  Four years later we decided we wanted to start a family and wanted to buy a single family home as close to Goshen Valley as possible.  One day in 2003, a house across the street went on the market; we bought it, and we have been enjoying it ever since.  Two weeks later we had our son Jack (future Realtor who will take over for me someday!!).  We look out our window from our house on Falcon Lane and see Goshen Valley.  I turned the garage into my home office and spend almost all my waking hours in there working or planning my marketing!  You can see the light coming out of my two glass sliding doors at the top of our driveway.

Since 2003, I have been very active as a member of Townwatch and advertise in the Goshen Valley Newsworthy.  When the Newsworthy is not published, I mail out large postcards to keep the residents informed about the real estate activity in Goshen Valley.  I want my postcard to be the best source for Goshen Valley sales and information outside of this website.

Goshen Valley has always been a special place to me.  Not only the focus of my real estate career, but a source of accomplishment when I look back on what I have done to help improve the community.  Take a look at the picture page on my website and you will see why.  When I walked through the community to take the pictures, I noticed the landscaping is first-class and there was no litter that needed to be picked up.  Everything was in its place and looked great.

Back a few years ago, I showed some Goshen Valley townhouse owners a single home in Downingtown.  They made an offer contingent on me selling his townhouse; the offer was accepted.  I did several open houses and met a buyer who made an offer on the townhouse contingent on me selling his Goshen Valley Flat.  I did several open houses and another agent brought the buyer for the flat.  The dominos fell and everyone was happy!  Things like this can be done with the right marketing and efforts.  I love making these things happen.

Please contact me if I can help you with buying, selling, renting, or any other Goshen Valley issues.  If you want to buy in Goshen Valley, I usually have some upcoming listings that might be right for you and I will show whatever is for sale at the time.  If you are looking to sell and buy somewhere else, it would be my pleasure to help you with that.

That is why they call me, "Mr. Goshen Valley"!
